First and foremost, I am — by no means — suggesting that I am an expert on this topic. In fact, I acknowledge that I’m very far from qualified.
However – this is a community list that’s meant for all people. All people deserve representation and their beliefs respected. (unless their core beliefs suppress/discriminate against/harm others… that’s a different story. yes, i’m a leftie… and that’s playing into this list heavily. i’m biased.)
That being said… I’m obviously not qualified to make a majority of cultural appropriation calls because I’m a cishet white female. I’m still learning what constitutes appropriation — across cultures, and I probably always WILL be learning.
That’s why I need YOUR help. If you see something in the safe list ESPECIALLY that’s appropriation, please let me know immediately. You can comment on the post directly, dm me, or email me.
I want to learn more. I want this list to be safe for people of all cultures and nationalities. I just ask that you don’t take it personally if something culturally offensive is in the safe list. I promise I will act as quickly as possible to remove it.
